Hello and welcome to Dogs 'n Doodles! My name is Natalie, and I am delighted to meet you!

Here's a little about myself,  and why I decided to become a dog groomer.

After spending more than 20 years in the IT industry juggling work and family life,  I decided it was time for a drastic change. I have always had a passion for animals, and I wanted to do something with animals but wasn't sure on what. A friend of mine suggested that I consider grooming as I love dogs, so I started looking into qualifications and training.

My Journey in Dog Grooming

In early 2020, I qualified in City & Guilds level 2 in Dog Grooming, 7763-02 at Basingstoke College of Technology.

Since September 2020, I have been training at Happy Hounds in Didcot in Oxfordshire and studying for my City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming . I completed my practical dog grooming assessments in August 2021,  and attained City & Guilds Level 3 Dog Grooming Diploma (merit) in December 2021.

The welfare of animals is very important to me, and this is one of the reasons that I decided to pursue a qualification in the industry's only recognised official training programme in dog grooming, City & Guilds. The dog grooming industry is currently unregulated, which means that any one can set up their own grooming business without having any formal training or experience. I have invested a substantial amount into my own personal development, and setting up my grooming room at my home in Donnington, Newbury.

On occasion, I work with my friend and associate Kim Barker who runs Mrs Barker's Grooming in Pangbourne. Kim has more than two years' salon experience in dog grooming and is a great addition to my business at Dogs 'n Doodles.

I am fully insured by Pet Plan Sanctuary.

Dogs 'n Doodles offer grooming for your dog, in a secure, safe, quiet setting using the best equipment and products. Your dog's welfare and needs come first. Our aim is to give you and your dog a personal, caring service.
